Preamble:
Ewan Sampson was a young Bermudian who recognised the great opportunities
for careers in the information technology industry for young men
and women fully trained in information technology, telecommunications
or computer science, to assume senior positions of leadership
in these developing areas of economic activity.
Purpose:
This scholarship, established in memory of Ewan Sampson, is to
provide financial support for qualified students to proceed with
studies leading to the attainment of baccalaureate degrees or
higher professional qualifications in the field of information
technology or in related studies at recognised colleges or universities,
and by that means to promote awareness in the community of the
opportunities for careers for young Bermudians in the information
technology industry.

Selection:
The Selection Committee
Description:
A 3 year scholarship for a Bermudian student studying for a baccalaureate
degree or higher professional qualification in the field of information
technology or in related studies at a recognized college or university.
Number:
One scholarship is awarded per year.
Benefits:
The normal award will be $12,500 per annum for a period of three
years.
Criteria for Selection:
Bermudian by birth or grant of status.
Evidence of outstanding academic achievement.
Evidence of good character.
Evidence of interest in, or aptitude for, information technology.
Evidence of leadership ability.
Interest or involvement in community services.
The Selection Committee may also take into consideration the financial
need of the candidate.
